With the summer heat comes hot outfits. Check out some of these stand out trends of the season that have been looking (and feeling) cool over these past summer months.

  1. Cutout Mania

A slit here, a cut there, a slash over there- cutouts are all the rage this season. Which look are you going to adorn? From high-end designers like Valentino and Versace to the local stores at your favourite mall, brands everywhere are embracing this trend. Try wearing a cut out set, dress, or flirty skirt. Not sure how to wear it? There are plenty of options, but pick your clothes with cut-outs based on where the break in the fabric looks best for your body.

2. White Out Suits

Embrace your classic side with a white suit. The pantsuit has come back strong this year, but if you’re not a fan of the typical pantsuit, try styling your suit differently! Think of a cute white blazer with a white skirt or shorts for a more casual feel. This look will have you feeling confident and ready for anything your day brings- there’s something about white that just screams summer fun.

3. Bright Like the Sun

Show off in bright colours this season, including lemon yellow and lime green. These colours are certainly the IT colours of the summer of 2022 as seen in all the boutiques and runways right now. You can wear a full-on bright dress, mix a bright piece into your outfit, or accessorize with a pop of one of these explosive colours in your footwear. One thing is for sure, the moment you put one of these vibrant colours on you’ll be left with a smile on your face.

4. Be Bold

Sticking with the bold theme from above, have some fun with your wardrobe with outrageous prints and patterns that are sure to make you the centre of attention. What prints are in fashion right now? Wild and psychedelic swishes of the 60s and 70s, checkermarks, and food prints are just some of the trends showing up on accessories and clothing at the moment. It’s fun to mix and match patterns- like a tie-dye headscarf with a pineapple patterned dress. Don’t be afraid to get out there and show off your favourite pattern combinations.

5. Striped Like a Zebra

Remember Beetlejuice’s iconic striped suit? Summer trends are taking a page from the shifty Broadway character as stripes make a reappearance. Show off your take on the trend with black and white striped pants to elongate your legs, or a purple and blue striped dress to make a splash. Take stripes to the next level by wearing striped knee highs with that micro mini, looking fab and runway ready.

6. Get Spotty!

Cruella Deville loves her spots, and for good reason. Spots can make a loud statement without speaking a single word. The summer months have seen animal prints - specifically of the leopard and cheetah varieties - overtaking over the streets. From satin midi skirts, to tortoise-flecked hair clamps, spotted prints have reclaimed their spot in this season’s fashion scene as a fierce statement, for what seems to be the first time since ‘The Cheetah Girls’ days of the early 2000’s.

7. Liquify your closet

Taking a throwback to the early 2000s, the metallic liquid look has come back in trend tenfold, with shiny ‘melting’ dresses, eye-catching metal bags, and reflective earrings everywhere. You’ll feel like a mermaid in this glamorous style. Just throw on your most *dazzling* ensemble and you’re ready to hit the dance floor disco-style, because let’s face it, this throwback trend is giving us Saturday Night Fever.

Show off your summer 2022 fashion highlights by getting out on the town, and enjoying every moment in your new look. Take tons of pictures to capture your Vogue moment, and experiment with these styles that are sure to catch everyone’s eyes. What’s your favourite trend mentioned? Did we miss any?
